It has been a while since I created a Japanese-style piece.
Today, December 15th, is a full moon, and I turned a melody that suddenly came to mind into this composition. Inspired by the winter seasonal word “Kan-getsu” (Cold Moon), this piece reflects the image of the full moon shining in the winter night sky, embracing the darkness (loneliness and sorrow) rather than rejecting it. Even on the coldest nights, the moon’s gentle light has a way of soothing the heart.
My new Japanese-style piano piece, Kan-getsu (Cold Moon), weaves together the chill of the winter air and the serene glow of moonlight.
I hope each listener can experience this music in their own way and find a sense of calm and warmth in it.
"Mugen" – A Winter Piano Piece Inspired by the Beauty of Transience
When we feel the touch of winter’s cold air, our hearts seem to quiet down, and at times, a wave of melancholy washes over us. "Mugen" is a piano piece that captures the unique emotions that winter brings. Snow briefly transforms the world into a silver wonderland, only to vanish just as quickly—it is this fleeting beauty that inspired this composition.
Have you ever experienced a love so dreamlike that it felt as if time itself had stopped? A moment of pure happiness, where the troubles of reality seem to melt away. And yet, when the moment passes, you are left wondering, "Was it all just a dream?"
"Mugen" portrays the brilliance of such fleeting moments of love, as well as the bittersweetness of returning to reality. Its Japanese-inspired melody gently evokes both subtle and powerful emotions, and I hope it resonates deeply within your heart.
Life itself is a journey where dreams and reality often intertwine. Sometimes, the happiness you think you've grasped fades away in an instant. Other times, in the midst of hardship, a glimmer of hope shines through.
It is in these fleeting moments of brilliance that life’s true beauty lies, don’t you think?
"Mugen" expresses the ephemeral nature of life, its sorrows, and the profound beauty that can be found within them.
I hope you can take a moment on a quiet winter night to listen to this piece. Perhaps while gazing at the snowy scenery outside your window, this music will bring warmth to your heart and offer you a serene moment of reflection.
